The Wait Is Finally Over
Grok AI has finally landed on Android! After months of anticipation (and maybe a bit of envy from Android users watching their iPhone friends have all the fun), the wait is over.
First Impressions
I’ve been playing around with the app since yesterday, and I’ve got to say, it’s pretty impressive how smoothly it runs. If you’ve been using ChatGPT or other AI assistants, you’ll find Grok has that signature irreverent personality that sets it apart from the more buttoned-up AI options out there.
User Experience
The interface is clean and intuitive. You just type your questions or requests, and Grok responds with that characteristic wit and sometimes surprisingly deep insights. What I really appreciate is how it doesn’t shy away from topics that other AI tools might politely decline to discuss.

The Android release comes about 3 months after the iOS version dropped, which feels like forever in tech time!
Official Launch Details
It’s Here (Mostly)! After a pre-registration phase that started around early February 2025, the official Grok app, developed by xAI (Elon Musk’s AI company), has rolled out onto the Google Play Store.
Availability
Recent reports (around March 26th-27th, 2025) suggest the rollout is now complete or much wider, especially in the US. So, if you pre-registered, you might have already gotten the notification to install.
Current Limitations
The Android version of Grok is currently in beta, which means it lacks some features like voice mode.
